WeConfig - Port Security

There are two security controls that make for a great addition in more static environments (i.e. most?...industrial networks) - disabling of unused ports and MAC filtering. We've often seen; however, many users set out to deploy these controls only to step back or stop entirely when it becomes administratively challenging.

While MAC filtering can be gamed and should not be considered the end all be all in your security plan, it makes for a clear improvement in the robustness of your network against unplanned, incidental mistakes that can lead to costly downtime. Anything to make the administration of such controls simpler to manage and maintain is a win in my book.

Check out this video to see how WeConfig allows you to implement both controls network-wide in just a few simple steps.
